"We recently switched our home and auto insurance to State Farm after being with another insurance company for 40 years. So far everyone we've come in contact with at Jim Rollo's office has been helpful and kind. The switch was painless and saved us a money. Hopefully, we'll never actually have to use the insurance. If we do, though, it's good to know we have solid insurance policies for a less than what it was costing us with the other insurance company. Edit 9/10/24: We just got our auto insurance bills for the next 6 months and one of those bills increased 30%, the other 17%. While I understand rates go up, these increases, especially the 30%, seem a bit high. We've had no accidents or incidents and our mileage is very low. When I called to find out why our bills increased so much, the agent tried to be helpful, but didn't give me an answer that made any sense. If this is going to happen every 6 months, then we'll probably be switching insurance companies."

State Farm (like all insurance carriers) has experienced unprecedented claims expenses which have made it necessary to request premium adjustments from state regulators. The following excerpt from State Farm annual report provides insights into the cost of claims. “2023- The State Farm P-C group of companies reported earned premium of $87.6 billion and a combined underwriting loss of $14.1 billion. This result compared to an underwriting loss of $13.2 billion on earned premium of $74.3 billion in 2022.” We wish these premium adjustments could be avoided. The inflationary factors which resulted in record claims payouts and losses for two years in a row, are beyond our control.
